New Lubbock Italian Restaurant Takes Over Old Gilbert's Location

For 29 years Gilbert's Bar and Grill was open in Lubbock. Back in March 2022, it was changed into Tripp's.

When Tripp's took over they kept the old Gilbert's menu, including the Chinese and shrimp dinner on Saturday nights.

Well, they have officially sold that building to something new and they are only doing catering now.

The new place that took it over is called Benito's Italian Cafe & Pizzeria. You may have tried them because they actually have other locations in Texas.

They will have a wide menu of options like fettuccine, ravioli, linguine, pizza, subs, soups, salads, seafood and much more.

At their other location, they do have drinks like margaritas and daiquiris so hopefully, this one will as well. They also offer daily specials and live music on certain days. Here is a look at the inside. They will have TVs as well which is big in Lubbock to watch sports.

The other location you might know about is in Vernon located at 4201 College Dr Suite A, Vernon, TX. On Google, they have 4.3 stars and 370 reviews. A lot of people in Lubbock think we need more Italian places so hopefully, this will be a good new spot for everyone.

While I have not had their food the pictures here do look pretty good so I am hopeful.
