After the Texas Tech recruiting class dipped to 12 players following the head coaching change, there was worry that the class would implode and that new coach Matt Wells wouldn't be able to recover. Amid social media and message boards, there was little faith.

But not even a month into the Wells Era at Texas Tech, the school has gotten a re-commitment from DB Alex Hogan, a reaffirmation from OT Trevor Roberts, a new commitment from OT Landon Peterson, and now the QB of the class is back on board.

In a Twitter post from future Red Raider Maverick McIvor, the QB from San Angelo wrote: "Considering numerous talks with God, Family, and Coaches, I have made my decision to recommit to Texas Tech. I can’t wait to see what my future holds and I’m excited to start my journey in Lbk!! #wreckem"

After Kliff Kingsbury was hired at USC, there was much speculation that McIvor would follow the offensive guru to the West Coast. USC had offered McIvor in the fall. But the Trojans weren't the only offer on the table for the San Angelo QB. McIvor also held 16 offers from the likes of Arizona State, Washington State, Ole Mis, and North Texas.

McIvor can sign with Texas Tech to make it official on December 19th during the early signing period.
