Many West Texas Parks Are Still Closed, Despite The Opening Of Most Texas State Parks
Many West Texas Parks are still closed, despite the opening of most of our Texas State Parks according to the Texas State Parks Map.
All Texas State Parks had been closed temporarily due to COVID-19 but now closest to us, it's great to see that Palo Duro Canyon State Park is open during the day but Caprock Canyon State Park is still closed, so we hope that will change soon. However it looks like all state parks further West in Texas like El Paso area parks and Big Bend area parks remain closed at this time.
If you've been looking for an opportunity to enjoy the great beauty of our parks for the day it's good to know there are many state parks to choose from that are now open for daytime visits.
You can follow this link for a map of our Texas State Parks and their open or closed status.
Be sure to practice social distancing and be aware that while a park may be open many of the recreation areas and some water access may be closed. Stay safe, stay alert, and enjoy!
