Another fall favorite in Lubbock, the 12th Annual Pumpkin Trail, begins on Thursday, October 22nd, 2020.

The Pumpkin Trail, hosted by the Parks and Recreation Department for the City of Lubbock, will run from Thursday, October 22nd through Sunday, October 25th at the Lubbock Memorial Arboretum in Clapp Park.

If you've never been to the Pumpkin Trail before, you should absolutely go. It's a family-friendly and free event that really showcases a lot of creative work done by citizens. The trail is lined with carved jack-o-lanterns and displays from different people, organizations, and businesses in Lubbock.

According to the City of Lubbock, occupancy will be limited at the entrances of the Pumpkin Trail. Entrances to the Pumpkin Trail will be located at the Lubbock Memorial Arboretum at 4111 University Ave., and the Lubbock Municipal Garden and Arts Center at 4215 University Ave.

The most popular time to visit the Pumpkin Trail is at night, of course. Pumpkin lighting begins at 5:30 p.m. each night. Evening hours are 6 to 9 p.m. on Thursday and Sunday, and 6-10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.

The City of Lubbock is hoping to have at least 2,000 carved pumpkins for this year's Pumpkin Trail. Tuesday is Pumpkin Carving Day at the Hodges Community Center until 5 p.m., where citizens can take their pumpkin and use the center's tools to carve.

If you'd like to drop off a carved pumpkin for the Pumpkin Trail, you can do so on Wednesday from 7:30-8 p.m. on the east side of the Lubbock Memorial Arboretum, located at 4111 University Ave. Just look for the sign that says "DELIVER PUMPKINS HERE." There will also be a limited delivery window on Thursday, October 22nd from 7:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
