Another new local Lubbock restaurant snuck up on us without our knowledge.

I have been waiting for Crush Teriyaki & Wok to open up and have been waiting and I guess it happened this weekend with a very soft launch.

I had to go try it out this week to see what all the fuss was about.

You may know the people that run this restaurant because they use to run a different Asian restaurant for more than 10 years right here in Lubbock at the South Plains Mall. Sadly the pandemic hit them hard like everyone else. They had to shut down but then this new opportunity came and they took it.

They posted to Facebook saying, "we were closed for almost two years, but never forgotten by our customers. Many customers and friends reached out to us through social platforms, leaving us encouraging, heart-warming messages and always wondering when we would reopen. Their support and love, like sparks forming a burning flame, lit up the dark life that had come to a standstill, and this is why the letter U in our logo is a heart-shaped spark."

It is their mission to bring fresh, tasty and healthy Asian food for everyone at an affordable price. Within opening up that is what they got. Great reviews and people showing up to try their food.

Once I saw people posting about how good it was I had to go by myself and check it out.

The restaurant is near 82nd and Slide right in that shopping center with Drug Emporium. It is like a fast food concept where you walk up and you can see all the food out and options.

I went and tried their two entree wok box. We tried sweet & sour chicken, General Tso, pepper chicken and orange chicken. Along with that we tried both fried rice and noodles. You know I had to get some cheese wontons with it.

The cheese wontons were probably my favorite thing I had. I liked the fried rice better than the noodles. Surprisingly our favorite chicken was the pepper one.

You can go check them out. They said they are doing 11 a.m. to sell out right now. Most of the days they sell out around 7:30 p.m.

You can check out Crush at  5109 82nd ST, Unit#9, Lubbock, TX, or find out more about them on their website.

If you know any new places opening up or want us to cover somewhere cool please email me! I love trying new places, contact me at kelsee.pitman@townsquaremedia.com.
