Lubbock Restaurant Makes Texas Monthly’s ‘Where to Eat Now 2022′ List
One of Lubbock's restaurants is getting a big shout-out in Texas Monthly's new article Where to Eat Now 2022.
The Nicolett is one of my favorite hidden special spots in Lubbock and they're definitely getting the attention they deserve. Texas Monthly's article covers their favorite dishes from the most impressive rookie establishments in Texas. They said if you go to The Nicolett, you need to try the elk tartare, which is on their "to begin with" part of their menu.
From Texas Monthly:
"A significant boost to the Hub City’s dining scene, this downtown establishment, which features dining rooms in a renovated residential building and a greenhouse, has become a showplace for West Texas and New Mexico ingredients, which are transformed by the techniques that owner-chef Finn Walter perfected while working in Austin, Napa, Paris, and Santa Fe. His unique elk tartare comes properly cut, dressed with juniper-chive-shallot aioli and capped with a tissue-thin peanut tuile."
This restaurant opened in downtown Lubbock on Broadway back in November 2020. I've been there before and all the food is fabulous. Chef Finn Walter does a fabulous job. While I have not had the chance to try their elk tartare, this story definitely makes me want to.
Here's what I had when I went. It was a quail cooked in this delicious homemade bread.
Everything from The Nicolett's house wines, appetizers, main meals and desserts are all homemade and cooked to perfection. It's a place I highly recommend to many people for a special night out. The atmosphere and restaurants it's are an experience on their own with their greenhouse and great staff.
If you want to learn more about The Nicolett, you can check out their official website or head over to their restaurant, located at 511 Broadway Street, Lubbock, Texas.
