Every adult remembers what it's like being a teen with the hormones, feelings of no one understanding you, and discovering great music and art. As teens we usually start expressing our feelings in different ways and can be very harsh on ourselves with our own bad art forms but maybe that bad art could be a good thing.

The Mahon Public Library is holding an event that is actually encouraging all teens to come out and try their hand at making some of the tackiest, worst, and bad art they can think of. This event is very much the opposite thing that most artist are used to which is to do their best but it's currently do your best at creating the worst.

The Bad Art Challenge is a free event for teens ages 12 to 17 and is a way for teens to express themselves without the pressures of having to stick to certain guidelines, or in a sense color within the lines. There will be a trophy for those who decide to take part in this event and it is guaranteed to be one of the most horribly tackiest trophies known to man.

I personally encourage parents to make an equally tacky sign supporting their teens to make this the greatest bad event to ever hit the Hub City. This event will be Friday, March 31, from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the Mahon Library located at 1306 9th Street near the Lubbock Memorial Civic Center. If you do attend this free event we want to see your worst works of art so feel free to show off your art in the comments.
