Lubbock Motorcycle Driver Abandons Injured Passenger After Wreck

A motorcycle driver abandoned their injured passenger after an early morning wreck on Friday, November 12th.
The Lubbock Police Department reports the crash occurred just before 2 a.m. near the intersection of University Avenue and Main Street.
The driver of the motorcycle, Noe Gomez, told officers that he lost control and crashed the motorcycle after avoiding hitting another vehicle. Gomez said his passenger was injured but unresponsive so he moved them to the sidewalk and left. LPD says the passenger suffered serious injuries as a result of the wreck.
The Texas Tech Police Department arrested Gomez over 30 minutes later after the wreck happened in the 2500 block of 8th Street.
Gomez was charged with failure to stop and render aid and booked into the Lubbock County Detention Center.
