A Lubbock man was indicted on Tuesday, September 27th after it's said he threatened an officer and said he "might go shoot up a school."

Back on Saturday, September 3rd, an officer with Lubbock Police arrived at 63rd Street and Avenue T after reports of a man lying on the side of the street. Apparently, drivers had to swerve to avoid hitting the man. The man, 53-year-old Craig Vedder, told the officer that he had just been in a fight with his girlfriend.

When the officer spoke to the woman Vedder called his girlfriend, she claimed that she was just a family friend. She also told police that she was driving with Vedder in her vehicle and a boy that was in the car with them accidentally hit Vedder in the face. She says he then grabbed the boy's hair aggressively.

After being arrested, Vedder said that he would get out the next day an "kill that fat b****." He arrived at the Lubbock County Detention Center and threatened an officer, saying he would find out where he lived and "I will kill you and your first born. I'll burn your b**** a** house down." KAMC News reports that Vedder also said that he "might go shoot up a school" and "kill 23 kids."

Vedder remains in the Lubbock County Detention Center on charges of abandoning a child in imminent danger, 2 counts of obstruction or retaliation, public intoxication, parole violation, criminal trespassing and making a terroristic threat.
