A Lubbock man was among multiple people arrested for stealing thousands of dollars worth of goods inside Midland Park Mall.

KAMC News reports that on March 5th, an employee of Victoria's Secret called Midland Police to report a theft. She said that the day before, 3 people, who were described as frequent shoplifters, came into the store and left with over $1,000 worth of merchandise.

Police then obtained surveillance footage and discovered that the suspects had stolen from multiple different stores the same day. The group was seen taking $550 worth of pants and hoodies from Champs Sports, over $2,500 worth of goods from Footlocker, and almost $5,000 worth of clothes from Dicks Sporting Goods.

Detectives said that  21-year-old Tyson Ayres Maldonado of Lubbock and 3 other suspects drove down to Midland to conduct their "mall adventure." The other suspects weren't identified in news reports.

Maldonado apparently listed the stolen merchandise for sale on Facebook, leading detectives to him. He was arrested on Wednesday, March 23rd for one count of robbery and five counts of theft.

Maldonado is also suspected of stealing makeup from Ulta Beauty at the same mall back in July of 2021.
