On Wednesday, February 10th, a City-wide Branding Campaign was announced by the Lubbock Chamber of Commerce.

According to the City, the purpose of this campaign is to celebrate Lubbock's previous success and future growth opportunities.

Lubbock Mayor Dan Pope said:

It is a pleasure to join the Chamber of Commerce to announce the City-wide Branding Campaign, Lubbock is a great place to live, work, and play [..] Lubbock has a great story to tell - and it is important we tell it. This rebranding effort will help us better communicate our rich heritage as well as our dynamic future. I want to thank the Lubbock Chamber for leading the branding initiative. It’s a Great Day in Lubbock, Texas.

Here are some broad goals for this branding campaign:

  • brand Lubbock as a great place to live for all stages of life
  • brand Lubbock as a great place for hosting families, visitors and guests
  • brand Lubbock as pro-business and a great place to work
  • brand Lubbock as a great place for learning and healing

The branding committee will be chaired by Sidney Hopper of United Supermarkets and will be co-chaired by Becky Palmer of Atmos Energy.

This committee is said to ensure that all Lubbock businesses and individuals can provide input into the selected firm, which will provide branding campaign deliverables, including a brand positioning statement, supporting message, and a resource package of designs, templates and implementation.
