At the end of the month, there will be a big benefit ride and concert for an injured Veteran and police officer.

It's all in honor of Jason "Cueball" Payne, a Mustang Ridge police officer who suffered significant injuries while working off-duty for a funeral procession. He will require future treatments and his family is in need of "Texas-size support."

The event is being put on by Code 3 Riders LEMC and The Garden. Code 3 Riders MC, West Texas Chapter consists of first responders, medical, military, and supporters who all share the passion to ride. They hope this event will not only show support but also raise money for the Payne family. This officer put his life on the line as a veteran and now an officer as well.

The event is happening Sunday, July 31st, and will start at noon with a benefit ride. They will meet at the South Plains Mall in the west parking lot at 12 p.m. and ride for 2 and a half hours.

After the ride, they will be also hosting a concert at The Garden that starts at 5 p.m. They're asking for a donation of $5 at the door to go back to Officer Payne. There will be food trucks, drinks, and live music at this event. The bands are Full Tilt Boogie and All About Alice. You may know All About Alice because they were a finalist in the Battle of the Bands two weeks ago.

All proceeds will be donated to Jason Payne and his family. The Garden is located at 1801 Buddy Holly, and you can find out more on the Facebook event page.
