After a year off due to COVID-19, Lubbock's annual 4th on Broadway celebration will be held on Saturday, July 3.

However, the Grand Marshall for this year's SONIC Parade, Lise Davis, will be unable to attend Saturday's parade. Ms. Davis is the widow of Country Music Hall of Famer Mac Davis who passed away in September of last year.

“We’ve had flight reservations for weeks for her to be able to get her for the festivities,” said Don Caldwell, Broadway Festivals president and executive director. “Her flights have been canceled; we’ve tried multiple airlines and a number of solutions, but to no success.”

The SONIC Parade starts Saturday morning at 9am at the intersection of Broadway and Avenue M. The parade will travel eastbound on Broadway to Canyon Lake Drive and then continue northbound into Mackenzie Park, before ending at Parkway Drive.

4th on Broadway will have all-day events on Saturday at Mackenzie Park including the annual fireworks show at 10pm.
