Early Voting Begins Today in Texas, Here is what you Need to Know

Early voting has officially begun now thru March 1st with the Texas Primary election to be held March 5th. Voting hours vary city to city and will be available on each individual cities website. Early voting began right here in the great state of Texas back in the 1980's, that from the Texas Secretary of States office.

What's on the ballot? It includes candidates for the U.S. Senate, the Railroad Commission, legislative offices, judicial seats, the State Board of Education and of course, the next President of the United States of America.

Here's what you need to know before heading to the polls.

First off you have to be a registered voter in order for you to vote.  The cut off date to register was February 5th.

Where can you vote? Registered and eligible voters can vote at an early voting location located in their county of residence that information is located on your counties website.

What do you need to bring to the polls in order to vote. Here are the acceptable forms of identification you will need:

A Texas Drivers License that was issued through the Texas Department of Public Safety

A Texas Personal Identification Certificate issued by the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS)

A Texas Election Identification Certificate issued by the DPS

A Texas Handgun License issued by the DPS

United States Passport

United States Military Identification Card with photo

United States Citizenship Certificate with photo
