It’s that time of year when the weather improves and everyone is spending more time outside, including solicitors.

While some door-to-door sales are less bothersome, like girl scout cookies or school fundraisers, there are very few people that enjoy having a random man knocking on their door trying to sell you solar, security systems, or internet.

Sure, I bet they do get a decent number of sales from this method, or else they wouldn’t keep doing it, but some of these salesmen go too far with it. From showing up to people’s houses after dark to returning repeatedly despite being turned down, it can be a bit much.

One company has developed some especially concerning practices that I've notice throughout my neighborhood.

They send out a salesman to go door-to-door, he gives his pitch, and if you show interest in learning more, he asks for a name and email so they can send you more information about their internet services.

They then take your information and sign you up for an internet installation without your consent.

If you aren’t paying close attention to your email, they will show up to your property expecting to install their service and will bill you for it even if you didn’t want it in the first place.

Even if you try to cancel the installation they schedule you for, they will continue to add you back to their schedule. I know a few different people that have dealt with this, and it took up to three times of contacting the company and telling them to stop rescheduling before they finally took them off the list.

I don’t know about you, but that seems like a pretty sketchy sales tactic to me.
