Austin City Limits Countdown: Texas Braces for Lineup Reveal
Texans are waiting for the reveal for the Austin City Limits Festival.
A True Texas Music Festival
Texans tend to call the Austin City Limits Festival "ACL", so let's go with that going forward. With nine stages ACL needs a lot of acts to pack into it's two weekends. In most cases, bands are asked to play both weekends, so I would imagine that would make for some screwy booking for bands. Still, ACL is the premiere music festival in Texas so it's doubtful that would keep anyone from playing.
Tickets Are On Sale
Tickets for ACL have been known to be at or near sell-out before the lineups even come out. Fans of ACL know they're going to get something pretty special and/or act on rumors and watch touring schedules closely to see if they're favorite band is at or near Austin during that weekend.
Who Will Be There?
There is an entire message board on Reddit just for ACL rumors. Right now it looks like Green Day, Dave Mathews Band, Sabrina Carpenter, Nine Inch Nails, Justin Timberlake, and Mumford & Sons are the leading names being discussed. With about fifty sets to fill each weekend, you can expect tons and tons of names on the undercard for this event.
The Rest And Prices
ACL will take place October 3rd though 5th and October 10th through 12th at Zilker Park in Austin. Tickets start at around $350 for weekend one and $320 for weekend two. For you big spenders, you can get a condo and ten tickets for $30,000 (yes, thirty-thousand dollars).
