It's the Christmas season and it's my favorite time of the year. People are busy shopping, going to parties with their co-workers, neighbors and friends. Decorations are hanging in the shopping mall and no doubt in one's home. It's just great.

Most folks have family traditions. Those could be driving around and seeing the Christmas lights in town, having certain foods for dinner or opening your presents on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day.

At our house, we always opened our gifts on Christmas Day and we always have a real Christmas tree. In fact, we have ornaments on the tree that are over 50 years old.

One tradition that we have was started when our son was a youngster, he's now 30 and has a son of is own. This tradition is watching the movie "White Christmas" with Bing Crosby and Danny Kaye.

My favorite part of the movie is when Crosby and Kaye help Rosemary Clooney and Vera Ellen, who are sisters in the movie, escape from the sheriff for not paying their rent.

To buy the girls some time, the guys go out in front of the audience at the night club the girls work at and do the sister's act.

It's funny and the story goes that Crosby and Kaye adlibed the whole thing. Crosby wanted it taken out of the movie, but the producers kept it in. I'm glad they did.
