Lubbock Police were involved in a car chase and Lubbock Fire Rescue battled a blaze on Tuesday, November 3rd.

A bit before 11:30 a.m., Lubbock Fire Rescue responded to the fire at 3906 East Colgate Street. No one was in the home at the time of the fire, and crews were able to put it out.

KAMC News reports that the cause of the fire is still being investigated by the Lubbock Fire Marshal's Office and that no injuries were reported.

Then, at around 1:52 p.m., it's said that a Ford Ranger was involved in a hit and run crash at 77th Street and Ash Avenue with a Black Chevrolet. There hasn't been any report of injuries as a result of the hit and run. It also wasn't made clear how serious the crash was.

KAMC also reported that the Ford fled the scene, and police prompted a chase.

The chase ended when the suspect hit a gas main in front of Caprock Clinic at 9202 Avenue P. It's presumed that the chase did not last long, even though the exact location of where the chase began was unknown. Atmos Energy and LP&L responded to the scene, police say.

The suspect was taken into custody after the crash.

A description of the suspect as well, as well as a list of their charges, wasn't made immediately available.
