Taco Villa has been around for more than 20 years thanks to the Blankenship family.

Bobby D. Cox opened the first restaurant in the chain on June 6, 1968, at 501 E. 8th St. in Odessa, TX.

In August 1997, Greg Blankenship, President and CEO of Endeavour Enterprises purchased the Lubbock, TX Taco Villas. Greg continued to grow the concept in West Texas opening the Levelland, TX, and Clovis, NM locations. Currently, Endeavour Enterprises operates 10 Taco Villas throughout Lubbock and Levelland, TX as well as Clovis, NM as well as other concepts and entities.

I had never heard of Taco Villa since I grew up in Austin but when I moved to Lubbock I fell in love with Taco Villa very fast. The fact that I can get Mexican food and fries together is iconic.

They have multiple locations around the area and even a new one coming soon at 13206 University Avenue.

I was shocked to find out that a lot of people didn't know my "hack" for Taco Villa.

When I go I always get the #2 which is a bean burrito, fries, and a 32oz drink. Now I love the burrito but I always want more red sauce. So I used to just ask for extra until I was told you could get a cup of it. The cup is great because they have different sizes and I can use it for the burrito AND my fries.

When I posted to Facebook about this I was shocked how many people didn't know about it. Yes, I get the large, look at that size. It is great and then I can use it for other stuff if I have leftovers!

So if you are headed to Taco Villa soon try it, it will be addicting lol.
