GoFundMe Page Created for Lubbock Boy Who Was Shot in the Head
Six-year-old Josiah Villarreal was the victim of a drive-by shooting in Lubbock on Friday, November 15th. His family has since created a GoFundMe page to help offset medical expenses.
Josiah was shot while inside his home in the 5000 block of 38th Street. His family says he's currently in stable condition and will be undergoing surgery in the next week.
From the GoFundMe page:
He is fighting for his little life and has a long battle ahead of him. We are in desperate need of prayers for a full recovery as we leave his precious little life in the Lord’s hands.
Meanwhile, Josiah’s mother is a single mother of two children who understandable needs to be at her son’s side throughout this terrible ordeal. She will however, have to take a leave of absence from her current employment in order to do so, and will have an insurmountable amount of medical bills as well as living expenses to take on while her baby boy remains in the hospital. A mother should never have to experience such a terrible nightmare while carrying the financial burden alone. We appreciate the concern and compassion during this difficult time and thank you in advance for your heartfelt contributions aiding in Josiah’s recovery.
Two people have since been arrested in relation to this shooting: 22-year-old Dezarey Marie Ramos, and 23-year-old Edward L Munoz.
