Yeah, they're gluten free, so basically they've taken all the flavor and goody goodness out of the cookies.  Hey, at least they didn't mess with the traditional flavors!

Ok, I admit I've polished off a sleeve of thin mints in one sitting, does that make me a bad person?  No, and come to think of it, I had minty fresh (and chocolaty) breath too!  I do admit that the Samoas are my favorite, they call those Caramel deLites now apparently, not sure why they changed the name.  What I am sure is that Girl Scout Cookies are part about as American as you can get, so when you start getting all Euro-healthy on me I get a little testy.

You can read all about the girl scout cookies here, but here they are the new cookies and their descriptions.  These are still be tested and are not available everywhere, we'll have to wait and see if they show up in Lubbock.

1.  Gluten-Free Trios.  These are gluten-free peanut butter and chocolate chip cookies made from whole grain oats.

2.  Gluten-Free Toffee-tastic.  These are butter cookies with little toffee bits.

3.  Rah-Rah Raisins.  These are basically oatmeal raisin cookies made with whole grain oats, raisins, and Greek yogurt-flavored chunks.

I guess I'll have to pass judgement on them until I've actually tasted them, but I can tell you I don't care for the idea, these are supposed to be a guilty pleasure darn it!  I'm one that never bought into the whole "gluten-free" craze either.  Yes, there are people with Celiac disease and maybe even some sensitivity, but it's gotten a little out of hand too.

Here's the actual unveiling from ABC's "Good Morning America".   Notice how George Stephanopoulos never actually said they were "good", and I'm pretty sure he spit it out right after they went to a break.
