Eastbound Lanes of Marsha Sharp Freeway Shut Down by Police
The Tuesday morning (Sept. 17) rush hour in Lubbock was briefly disrupted when one person was taken into custody on or near the Marsha Sharp Freeway.
At 7:30 a.m., KAMC News reports that Lubbock Police responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle at an America’s Best Value Inn, located at 4105 19th Street.
When officers arrived at the Inn, police say one person fled the vehicle and ran under a nearby bridge of the Marsha Sharp Freeway.
Police say the person then tried to flag down a vehicle but were unsuccessful. They were soon taken into custody by Lubbock officers.
The eastbound lanes of Marsha Sharp had to be shut down for a short time while police were investigating, which drastically slowed the morning rush hour in North Lubbock.
