It's the 50th anniversary of Earth Day on April 22nd and you will find a Lubbock celebration at Barnes & Noble at South Plains Mall presented by City of Lubbock Water, Solid Waste and Storm Water Departments Saturday according to the City of Lubbock Events Calendar. 

This Saturday from 2 pm - 6 pm bring the family out for a big afternoon at Barnes & Noble. The kids will love it, there will be some great fun crafts just for them!

You will find some great information about going green in Lubbock at this event. It's about  conservation, and preserving and protecting our precious resources!

Barnes & Noble will also have a special event story time for the new book Here We Are, Notes for Living On Planet Earth at 11 am according to their website.

An Earth Day national initiative, at earthday.org is focused on ending plastic pollution.
