Did You Know Lubbock Has an Indian Grocery Store?
Sometimes when you go to a normal grocery store, it may be hard to find everything you need. That's why it's so important to have specialty ones here in Lubbock. It helps us grow our culture and try new and different foods.
Did you know Lubbock has its own Indian grocery store? Well, Mirch Masala is positioning itself to be a one-stop shop for Indian grocery needs. Not only do they have a vide variety, but they can help you if you are wanting to learn more.
They have everything from Middle Eastern, Persian, Pakistani, Bangladeshi, and Nepali African groceries. Their goal is to spread their heritage and culture through their food by educating the community and exposing them to the regional diversity of Indian food. They want to continue the family tradition with personal service and great quality.
While I haven't been to the store yet, I'm hoping to stop by soon. I always love trying new things and learning more about different foods. I think it's great that the community can feel comfortable coming in and not worry about being judged or not knowing what to do.
The store owner is also looking into adding a kitchen and expansion to the store very soon, though there's not much information on exactly when it will happen.
You can find Mirch Masala at 2815 34th Street in Lubbock or check out their official Facebook page where they keep you up to date on everything they have going on. If you'd like to see their selection of goods, visit their new website. Most days they are open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
