She was known as "Miss Country Soul" and Jeannie Seely likes what she's hearing from today's new country artists.

She started out some 40 years ago and tells AOL'S THE BOOT, that she can relate to the new folks on the scene today.

She says when she got started she was encouraged to use the same musicians as everyone else. She was criticized for wanting to use someone different and bring her own sound to the table.

In fact, she says ,"we got some wonderful sounds in new country today. I looked at that a little different than a lot of the legends do.

You may remember Jeannie Seely had a huge song that put her on the may, 'Don't Touch Me'.
