Former Texas Tech Coach Spike Dykes Dead at 79
Former Texas Tech football head coach Spike Dykes has passed away at the age of 79. He suffered what appeared to be a heart attack early Monday
From Lubbock Online:
Bill Worley, a former Tech player and friend of the former coach, confirmed Dykes’ passing. He had lived for several years at Horseshoe Bay near Austin.
Dykes first join the Red Raider program under Jerry Moore and would spend 13 seasons with the Red Raiders. His overall record was 82-67-1.
Texas Tech Football issued a statement on Dykes' death via Twitter:
