Lubbock 101 is an opportunity to get behind the scenes of City of Lubbock services while gaining knowledge about municipal government. And if you've ever thought about running for Lubbock City Council this is the type of class where you can gain insight into what is happening with local government.

The City of Lubbock is accepting applications for the Lubbock 101 Citizens Academy that begins on Thursday, March 24th. An application is required for enrollment and enrollment is limited, so I would submit my application soon if I were you.

According to a press release from the City of Lubbock, Lubbock 101 Citizens Academy will have eight classroom sessions and tours of different departments.

Lubbock 101 is a citizens academy designed for residents to learn more about their city, its operations and all the services it provides. The program consists of eight classroom sessions, tours of several City of Lubbock departments and field days to the City’s Fleet Services, the Water Treatment and Distribution operations plant and the Airport Fire Station.

Lubbock 101 starts Thursday, March 24, 2022 and ends with a graduation and recognition ceremony during the Lubbock City Council meeting on Tuesday, May 10, 2022, at 4:30 p.m.
