Who else is excited for Anime Lubbock at the MCM Elegante Hotel on June 11th-13th? I know I am.

I grew up going to all sorts of conventions near my hometown, ranging from thousands of attendees to just a couple hundred. I loved every one of them. Being surrounded by likeminded people sporting their fandom's merch or completely decked out in cosplay of their favorite characters. It's something everyone should experience, especially if you enjoy people-watching.

As a bit of a geek and an anime and manga lover, I'm really excited about Anime Lubbock. Lubbock is not home to extremely large conventions, but that doesn’t mean they aren’t still great to check out. Anime Lubbock will allow all of the local weebs to spread their wings and mingle with fellow fans.

There are some impressive guests attending the convention as well. Voice actors Charlie Campbell, Jessie Flower, Christina Kelly, Elizabeth Maxwell, Jason Liebrecht and Matthew David Rudd are all attending. You'll know their voices from animes such as My Hero Academia, Attack on Titan, Noragami and more. There will also be music, cosplay, and other guests coming to the event. Check out the Anime Lubbock Website for more information on guests and panels.

Activities include an anime screening room that will be playing something different each hour. I will absolutely need to be there on Friday at 7 p.m. so I can watch some of the second season of Fruits Basket (my personal favorite anime). Vendors, a maid café, cosplay contest, a concert, and more are also on the jam-packed agenda.

This is an event that I surely won’t be missing out on, especially after a year without any events like this. They are requiring masks in the exhibit hall, so be sure to have one on you when shopping at vendors and meeting the voice actors. A few ticket options are still available, but the VIP options are completely sold out. I'll see you there!
