According to an article from Townsquare Media radio station Mix 94.1, the legendary Buc-ee's is rumored to be coming to Amarillo and may have already picked out a spot. Honestly, it should be Lubbock, not Amarillo. What were you thinking Buc-ee's?

First off, Lubbock is a great city. Secondly, so many people travel through it to go anywhere west or north, including California, Colorado and New Mexico. I mean, that's why some of my friends from home and Dallas have been through Lubbock. Thirdly, Lubbock's population is way bigger than Amarillo's, and we love Buc-ee's. This is something we've talked about for a long time.

We have all these gas stations popping up in Lubbock, and if anyone travels anywhere they're gonna need to fill up because it's not going to be a short trip. Currently, the closest Buc-ee's location that's anywhere near West Texas is Fort Worth, which is a shame. You're missing so many people out here who need gas and y'all's yummy food and drinks. I mean, if someone is passing through Lubbock they probably need a quick stop somewhere with lots of options or a place to relax and unwind. Y'all offer both of  those things.

While I know it's not official that Buc-ee's is coming to West Texas, I really do think they're missing out on a big opportunity in Texas. Buc-ee's is expanding out to Tennessee and Auburn, but not in the great state where their roots are. I mean, come on -- we're bigger and better in Texas.

You're more than welcome to reach out to me if you do decide to come to Lubbock and I will help spread the word or anything else you need. My email is kelsee.pitman@townsqauremedia.com. For now, I'm done with my rant.
