On this "two for Tuesday" is a singer who was the daughter of Grand Ole Opry star and legend George Morgan, who had the country classic "Candy Kisses". It was on this day in 1973 that Lorrie Morgan made her first appearance on the Grand Ole Opry at the age of 13.

She began singing professionally at the age of 17, a year after her father passed away. When she was 21,she was opening shows for George Jones.

She was married to country singer Keith Whitley. Morgan's career really took off when her song "Dear Me" hit the Top Ten in 1989. Ironically, it was at the same time Whitley passed away.

In the 90's Morgan was no stranger to the charts, scoring three Number One songs.

I've always like her voice and the way she sang and two of my favorites by her are "Picture of Me Without You" and "Out of Your Shoes Tonight".
