Update: One person is dead after a home invasion Thursday morning, March 11th. The LPD's Metro Special Crimes Unit reports the home invasion took place at about 9:15 a.m. at a home in the 1500 block of 41st Street.

31-year-old Zach Thomas and 37-year-old Billy Rodgers broke into the home and demanded that one of the residents, 32-year-old Jose Dominguez, lay on the floor.

Another resident of the home, 33-year-old Lorene Aviles, was also struck over the head by one of the suspects with a firearm. This initiated a struggle between Dominguez and one of the suspects.
