15,000 Texas Tech Fans Swag Surf Their Way With the Team to 16-0 in Lubbock [Pictures]
With another sold-out crowd in Lubbock at the United Supermarkets Arena, the Texas Tech men's basketball team not only swept reigning National Champion Baylor for the first time since 2005, but are now 16-0 in Lubbock. That's impressive in and of itself.
We also know this year's team is something special. A CBS Sports guy is already calling Head Coach Mark Adams the coach of the year, and Lubbock is here for it.
The Texas Tech-Texas game was a sell out and ticket prices for it skyrocketed, and the same goes for Wednesday's white-out game against Baylor.
The student section and crowd did what it does best and swag surfed their way to another loud night in the USA with the team doing an amazing job and winning against the no. 7 ranked Baylor Bears. We even had some familiar faces in attendance.
The crowd was loud and our very own Patrick Mahomes was in attendance. When he walked in, the place went wild! Mahomes was loud and proud, despite some social media trolling aimed at his fiancee Brittany Matthews and even Kansas Men's Basketball's official Twitter account calling him our for one of his claims.
Texas Tech's win was all tied together with a big bow as the crowd stormed the court to celebrate with the team and sing the fight song one last time for the night.
No matter who you are in the United States, Texas Tech and Lubbock is definitely put on the map this year for many reasons.
Starting off with Coach Adams doing what he does best and the team right next to him playing their hearts out. Then the crowd and town show up for these guys and show we have their back to "eat more Bears." No matter the game, the attendance and savage comments are there. And this is all right before the big game on Saturday in Austin against UT, along with two more home games left in the regular season.
Let's finish this season strong. Wreck 'em, Tech.
