With fall fast approaching, the third season of ‘The Voice‘ is upon us, and with it comes a new set of advisers to our favorite four coaches. Assisting Blake Shelton this season is not a fellow country star, but soulful pop crooner Michael Buble, known for his butter-smooth, Rat Pack style. This is a big prediction, but with Blake and Buble working in tandem, we’re thinking back-to-back season wins for Team Blake. Can you say, “Repeat?”
Country music darling and America’s sweetheart Taylor Swift dropped some big hints on her Facebook page today (July 9), eluding that big news is on the way. While she didn’t specifically say that the to-be-announced reveal is related to her new album — due out later this year — we’re speculating that it probably has something to do with that.
One club that singer Chris Young doesn’t want membership in is the ‘Bus on Fire’ club. In recent months, the likes of Jerrod Niemann and Lee Brice have witnessed their tour vehicles fall victim to fiery blazes. Young was almost among their ranks last Friday (June 30), when his vehicle caught fire in Charlotte, N.C.
Willie Nelson ought to change his first name to “Wily.” That’s because the pro-pot singer is smartly planning to either rent or purchase a home in the Netherlands in the next year so he can continue to buy marijuana legally. Local Dutch officials are planning to outlaw “drug tourism” next year, meaning that non-resident pot proponents can’t travel there to stock up. Nelson wants to skirt that problem, so he’ll pick himself up a nice piece of real estate.
Zac Brown Band are animated in the video for their latest jam ‘The Wind’ from the forthcoming ‘Uncaged.’ The band didn’t hire just any old animator for this clip. They pulled out the big gun in the form of ‘Beavis & Butthead’ and ‘King of the Hill’ creator Mike Judge, who fashioned the hilarious protagonist Robo Redneck aka the Six Million Dollar Honky.
One good turn deserves another. Classic rock singer/songwriter James Taylor was invited to join Taylor Swift onstage during her tour stop at New York City’s famed Madison Square Garden last November, so it was only fitting that he return the favor. On Monday (July 2), Swift took the stage alongside Taylor for an exciting collaboration during his show at Tanglewood in the Berkshires in Massachusetts.
Eric Church hit the stage at Metallica‘s first-ever Orion Music + More festival yesterday (June 24), held at Bader Field in Atlantic City, N.J. Metallica singer James Hetfield introduced Church before his set, saying that the Orion is a place for rebels, and “representing the country side is Mr. Eric Church.” It was beyond cool for the singer of the biggest rock band in the world to welcome Church to the fest personally. The crowd heeded Hetfield’s advice and poured into the open airfield for Church’s set.
Tim McGraw had a special guest at the Charlotte, N.C. stop of his Brothers of the Sun Tour on Sunday, June 24. After performing alongside wife Faith Hill in Nashville on Saturday, he brought out local boy-done-good Scotty McCreery to sing the second verse of ‘I Like It, I Love It.’ To say that it was met with a resounding applause from the crowd would be putting it mildly.
