One good turn deserves another. Classic rock singer/songwriter James Taylor was invited to join Taylor Swift onstage during her tour stop at New York City’s famed Madison Square Garden last November, so it was only fitting that he return the favor. On Monday (July 2), Swift took the stage alongside Taylor for an exciting collaboration during his show at Tanglewood in the Berkshires in Massachusetts.

Though it was announced only a few days prior that Swift would make an appearance at the show, the locals were all well aware of her expected arrival, eager to see her perform with the man she was essentially named after.

The ‘Mean’ country superstar took the stage to assist Taylor on ‘Fire and Rain’ — which they also performed at the November gig — before a 20-minute intermission, according to Mass Live. She later returned to the stage for an encore, performing her own songs ‘Ours’ and ‘Love Story,’ completing the Taylor-Taylor mashup. James Taylor happily took the acoustic guitar and served as the backup vocalist on the choruses for the leading lady, despite his name being the one on the bill. The audience offered Swift a standing ovation.

On her Twitter account, Swift gushed about her excitement to perform with the legend — again. “Just had the honor of performing with James Taylor to a sold out crowd in MA,” she reported. “We sang Fire and Rain, Ours, and Love Story. Pics/videos soon!”

Making good on her promise, she later shared 15 seconds of footage of the duo performing together.
