Lubbock's newest and most unique Airbnb is about to open and I have a sneak peek for you.

It is called The Hub City Silos and they are very impressive. (I have pictures of all of it below.) They are still trying to get everything set and ready for their opening but I wanted to show y'all how they are coming along.

The owners are a local married couple, Ricky and Carol Pevey. This project started back in October of 2021 and was all done by hand. All the pieces and things you will see are antiques and things they have found around the area.

There is one big silo and five smaller ones. Each of the smaller silos are named after their grandkids' nicknames and the big one is named after their friend who recently passed away.

Two of the silos were found in Ralls, Texas, which is Rick'ys hometown and the others came from Oklahoma. Ricky and his crew went and picked up every single one, took them down, brought them to Lubbock, and got to work.

The big silo, named 'The Watson' is two stories and has a covered balcony. The room has a large living room, a dining area, a king bed, a bathroom, a TV, a mini-fridge, a microwave, coffee, a toaster, and a personal A/C unit.

The smaller silos have a queen bed, TV, bathroom, microwave, mini-fridge, coffee, toaster, and personal A/C unit as well.

All the furniture and things you see inside were selected for a certain silo and no two are alike. They have a rich and unique history, even dating back to the 1930s.

The tin that you see inside all the silos came from Lamesa from old chicken coops that produced eggs that they made into powdered eggs for the military during World War II.

If you are worried about the Lubbock weather that is not an issue. All the silos are insulated with two inches of thick spray foam and all have personal A/C units to keep the temperature just right.

There is a common area out in the middle for people to come together to sit, play games, roping dummies, bbq pits, and even a firepit.

Later down the road, they want to add more places for people to stay, a chapel, a dance hall, putting green, and maybe even a couple more things so that the community can come out and enjoy the area as well.

They are having their big grand opening on March 12th, 2023 open to the public. It is happening from 2 p.m. - 5 p.m. They want everyone to be able to come out and see all the silos. They want to know everyone's comments and opinions.

They are located in West Lubbock near Erskine Street and Alcove Avenue. The address is 8011 cr 6500. You can find out more about them on their website.
