A woman from Levelland was found with life-threatening injuries Thursday morning, Dec. 5th. KAMC News reports the woman was driving on Highway 114, back home to Levelland from Lubbock, when her car veered off the road at about 3 a.m. near Reese Center and landed in a field.

Photos of the accident show the car completely destroyed and yet the woman somehow survived for more than 4 hours at the crash site. The accident wasn't discovered by emergency crews until 7:45 a.m.

Police say the woman, only identified as a 42-year-old, was found with life-threatening injuries and was taken to University Medical Center for treatment. It’s unclear how the accident occurred, but police say that driver fatigue may have been a factor.
