Woman Arrested in Connection to Murder of 66-Year-old Lubbock man
An arrest has been made in the case of a 66-year-old Lubbock man that was found dead in his home. Deputies with the Hale County Sheriff’s Office have arrested 29-year old Kassandra Aguayo at 1:30 a.m. in Plainview on November 18. Aguayo was arrested in connection to the stabbing of 66-year old Ramon Flores whose body was discovered on November 11.
KAMC news reported that a warrant for Aguayo’s arrest stated that police were given a tip by one of Flores' family members and is believed to be the last person that spoke with Flores before his death. That family member told police that Aguayo was Flores’ live-in girlfriend in February and is believed to have been heard during that phone call in the background while not living at the home. Police spoke with Aguayo and told investigators she was working at the time of Flores' murder but after speaking with her place of employment it was later discovered that she had lied.
A witness close to the suspect told police that Aguayo had confessed to them about killing Flores and described how she murdered Flores. Investigators initially thought that it was a gunshot wound but according to the witness Aguayo tried multiple times to kill Flores first by putting a bag over his head and then attempting to stab him. Aguayo is said to have stayed to watch Flores as he was dying to ensure that he did die. Aguayo was arrested and, per the publishing of this article, is currently being held in the Lubbock County Detention Center on a $500,000 bond.
