What Happened To Me?
Something has happened to me and I’m not sure what. I had a minor brain injury not too long ago – but I can’t believe something as small as that would cause such a HUGE change in my personality!
My family and friends are a little concerned as well. Looking back, I think I can pinpoint the exact moment that my personality altered. It was only 3 days after I was released from the hospital.
Sunday – September 7, 2014 – I left my house and went to the grocery store. When I returned home and unloaded the groceries things got really weird.
I started cooking. COOKING!! Stop laughing, I’m being serious! I went to the store, bought food and proceeded to cook 3 different recipes I found on Pinterest! (Pinterest is another clue proving my altered personality that I will share with you a few paragraphs down.)
Now don’t get me wrong, I know HOW to cook and truth be told when I actually DO cook – I cook very well! I just don’t LIKE cooking (see, personality altered!).
When I was growing up, the only meals my mother cooked was from scratch. Cooking from scratch in my family meant being in the kitchen for HOURS cooking a cleaning so that your family can inhale your culinary masterpiece in 2.8 seconds flat! So, eventually I got sick and tired of being in the kitchen by myself, blocked off from the rest of the family who is having a good time in the living room or outside or whatever. Not to mention that by the time I was done with all of the cooking and cleaning, I was too tired and too hot to eat! So yeah – it didn’t take me that long to figure out I was getting the short end of the stick and fast food and take out became the norm!
Well – in the early hours of the morning on September 7th (about 4am) I was still awake from the previous day and just couldn’t fall sleep and I decided to download an app that I swore I would never partake in because I just don’t need any more social media apps in my life. I downloaded Pinterest.
BUT what to my wondering eyes should appear…but an endless world of recipes that not only sound delicious – but it releases me from my kitchen prison! WHO KNEW??!!
Now I’m cooking meals where the leftovers are eaten the next day instead of sitting in the fridge waiting for the next science experiment my kids need. I’m inviting friends over for dinner. Hell – I’m even bringing casseroles to WORK and I don’t even LIKE some of these people (I kid, I kid – or do I?)!
Nevertheless – it seems there is something wrong with me and my family and friends are concerned…THAT THE COOKING IS GOING TO STOP!
But now, if you would like – you can now follow me on Pinterest – just remember I’m a beginner so I don’t know exactly what I’m doing but I can sure give you 25 Fix it & Forget it recipes!
