Walmart Is Inching Back to 24 Hours With Latest Expansion

As a teenager, one of my favorite things to do was wander around Walmart at 3 a.m. It was a relatively safe place to loiter with your friends. (I apologize to every employee at the time for bouncing those huge balls that come out of the bungee corded display. And for riding the bikes. It's not my fault they are irresistible.)

Flash forward a few years, and I'm a young mom who can only get my shopping done after my partner gets home at midnight. I have the baby aisle to myself, and no one except security can see me singing along to Wham!

Now, I'm old and grumpy and I don't want to dodge carts and small children to get the few items I need. With Walmart not being 24 hours, I've honestly avoided it since February. It's just not for me unless I can go really, really late. Then, I'm totally into it. I'll be back, my dear...when 24 hour is back.

Walmart recently announced they are expanding their hours from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. starting November 14th to allow customers to "disperse" throughout the day, but I'm sure it also has something to do with the fact that Christmas will be a short six weeks after.

Wherever you shop, wipe your cart handle, wear your mask, and treat their dedicated employees with compassion and respect. This hasn't been easy on anyone, and it has been especially hard for retail workers, who don't get enough respect as it is.
