Federal prosecutors released a statement on Friday, September 20th, saying that two former Reagor-Dykes employees had pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit bank fraud.

52-year-old Sheila Evans Miller and 53-year-old Diana Herrera Urias pleaded in front of a federal magistrate in Amarillo. The two face a sentence of no more than 5 years in prison and restitution of around $23 million.

KAMC News reports that the two were part of an extensive check-kiting scheme, and that Reagor-Dykes had an entire team designated to kite checks.

The FBI's Amarillo office learned of this information, and released records saying that they're investigation of Reagor-Dykes began all the way back in February of 2018.

Reagor-Dykes filed for bankruptcy on August 1st of 2018 after being accused of fraud and default.

Former Chief Financial Officer of Reagor-Dykes, Shane Smith, is the only other person connected to the companies to plead guilty to any charges. He pleaded guilty back in June of 2019 and will be sentenced at a later date to no more than 20 in prison. He also agreed to be responsible for $50 million of restitution.
