Two People Charged in Lake Alan Henry Boating Accident
Two people have been charged in a Lake Alan Henry boating accident that resulted in two men suffering leg amputations.
KAMC News reports charges were filed against 32 year-old Randi Martin and 33 year-old Timothy Martin. Officials say the two made knowingly false statements about the boating accident, which occurred in June.
Timothy and Randi were passengers in a boat along with two other individuals in the water. The two individuals in the water got sucked into the boat propeller, one person lost one foot, and the other lost both feet.
Timothy told authorities that he was driving the boat, but authorities discovered that Randi was the one actually driving the boat, and he was intoxicating during the incident.
Randi Martin and Timothy Martin have been charged with making a false statement to a peace officer, which carries a punishment of up to 180 days in jail and a fine of up to $2,000.
