We asked Lubbock residents one of the most controversial questions in town: who has the best pizza in town? We tallied up the votes and one thing is clear: people seem to love Capital Pizza the very most.

Here's a list of the top 10 pizza places, ranked by over 75 local residents.

1. Capital Pizza

As it stands now, Capital Pizza was the favorite place in town. It had far more votes than any of the others by a long shot. Several voters said that Capital Pizza had the very best crust, including their gluten-free crust, which also seems to be extremely popular.

2. Costco

Surprisingly, pizza from Costco has ranked the second-best pizza in town according to voters. I haven't tried it before, but it looks like I'd better check it out soon. I was kind of shocked that so many people preferred Costco pizza over going to a pizzeria. They must have some kind of magic going on there.

3. Simple Simon's

This spot located off of the interstate is said to have some of the best pizza and customer service in town. Voters mentioned that the wonderful staff really made the experience great.

4. The Texas Cafe and Bar - The Spoon

This one got a lot of attention, too. Apparently, The Spoon is loved among locals for the fresh toppings and the delicious thin-crust style pies.

5. Pie Five Pizza

Pie Five Pizza is adored in town because of the setup inside. Everyone compared it to ordering at Subway, where you can watch them build your pizza in front of you. You know exactly what you're getting when you can see someone make it with your own eyes.

6. Woody's

Several people voted for Woody's and mentioned that they also had the very best jalapeno poppers in town. They are also similar to Pie Five because you can see the pizza built in front of you. Woody's also serves breakfast now, and I've got to say their Kolaches are damn good.

7. Dario's

This spot just opened up recently, and if you haven't checked it out, you'd better get over there. I imagine it would have ranked higher on the list but not everyone has had a chance yet to check it out.

8. Orlando's

Everyone loves Orlando's. They've been around forever and they never seem to let us down. They've got a huge menu that goes far beyond pizza and really seem to know their stuff.

9. Double Dave's

Double Dave's has always been my personal favorite. I've never had a bad meal there and I love the employees. It seems like they're still pretty popular, even with the new spots that have opened up. You can't go wrong with Double Dave's. Mmmm. Just thinking about it makes me hungry.

10. Giorgio's

Giorgio's Pizza is said to always be fresh and delicious with a great atmosphere.

Other favorites in town include: Market Street, Italian Garden, Isabella's, Domino's, Pizza Hut, Papa Murphy's, Atomic, Little Ceasars, Pepe's, Brooklyn Pizza, Urban Bricks, Bubba's 33, 1000 Degrees, One Guy From Italy and BJ's. One person also mentioned really missing Pinocchios (rest in peace).
