The One Must-Know Grilling Tip That Removes Nearly All Carcinogens
This Memorial Day weekend officially kicks off summer grilling season, and there is one key thing to do to to eliminate nearly all carcinogens.
We talked with Brenda Duby with United Supermarkets about the fact that studies have shown in recent years that grilling with either charcoal or gas adds carcinogens to your meat.
How do you get the delicious benefit of grilled food without the potentially deadly carcinogens?
Brenda said the one most important thing that you can do is marinate you meat, fish, poultry, veggies and fruit before you grill them.
Brenda said that marinating before grilling eliminates 92 to 99 percent of carcinogens. That is huge!
She also said that it doesn't matter what you marinate it in; the effects will be the same.
In addition to the myriad of meats we love to grill, Brenda also suggested grilling pineapple, asparagus and even peaches. She said grilled peaches are delicious and after grilling them with the skin on you can easily peel the skin off. But she cautions that the skin is also what is so packed with vitamins and nutrients.
So here's to kicking off summer and kicking carcinogens out of our grilling.
