The Highwomen's self-titled debut album reached No. 1 on Billboard's Top Country Albums chart and reached the Top 10 on Billboard's all-genre Top 200 chart, a feat that is hard to accomplish for any country artist.

The supergroup consisting of Brandi Carlile, Amanda Shires, Maren Morris and Natalie Hemby reacted to the big news online.

"It’s official: The Highwomen have a No. 1 country album," Carlile wrote on her Instagram. Morris replied to the post, writing, "Reallllllll glad you asked me [to] be in this," referring to Carlile inviting her to join the group.

Morris created an Instagram post celebrating the big win for women everywhere.

"Welp, I guess this is really for real, ladies. 4 voices in unison, no one over the other in the mix, no one further upstage or whose spotlight is brighter... EQUALS. And now we’re No. 1 in Country. @thehighwomen text thread is lighting up today," she wrote.

"I still can’t believe it. Thanks y’all for listening and believing and supporting us," Shires shared on her Instagram along with images of the quartet creating the album.

"The @thehighwomen are #1. Thanks for believing in the idea since day 1, @davecobb7 [producer]," she continued. "There’s a picture here from the beginning of the writing process at @brandicarlile ‘s through recording (BC can cook a badass steak btw). To all the Highwomen: @marenmorris @wruckestrike @iamyolaofficial @sherylcrow @mavisstaples @dollyparton @jasonisbell and to all the Highwomen before us and joining us in the future."

Shires ended the post with an all caps celebration, "HELL YES. LET’S CELEBRATE. LET’S KEEP OPENING DOORS AND KEEP HOLDING THEM OPEN FOR ONE ANOTHER. ALLLLLL THE LOVE!"

The album sold over 34,000 equivalent units, according to Nielsen Music. During its first week of eligibility, after its official release on Sept. 6, their debut beat out Luke CombsThis One’s for You, which sold 18,000 albums and came in at No. 2 on the chart.
