The Red Raiders will have a night atmosphere for the first time this season on Sept. 22, when Texas Tech opens Big 12 play with a 6 p.m. kickoff against Oklahoma State at Boone Pickens Stadium in Stillwater.

The game will be on FOX Sports 1, which will be the third national broadcast of a Texas Tech game this season.

Texas Tech hasn't won in Stillwater, Oklahoma since 2001, though their last two appearances at Boone Pickens have had their own special touches. In 2014, Patrick Mahomes took his first snaps as a Red Raider quarterback. And in 2016, the Red Raiders lost a heartbreaker, 45-44, when the good guys missed an extra point that would have tied the game.

But 2018 is a new year, and Texas Tech is looking to build some momentum against a tough Houston squad this Saturday (Sept. 15th) at 3 p.m., which means Countdown to Kickoff will start that day at noon. Be sure to tune in.
