According to texastech.com, Jessica Hartwell was named the conference Player of the Week after smashing six home runs and driving in 19 RBI during the Jeannine McHaney Memorial Classic.

SIX HOME RUNS IN ONE WEEK.

Texas Tech softball played seven games in which Hartwell hit .440 with, two triples, a double and 19 RBI to lead the Big 12 in week four. Oh, and SIX HOME RUNS.

She was so dominant that she almost doubled the next most productive run producer and had 15 more total bases than anyone else in the Big 12.

To make her home runs even more impressive, she hit two in one game against New Mexico State and nailed a grand slam against Bowling Green.

“Of course, I love her numbers,” head coach Adrian Gregory said. “I love what she can do production wise, but I pick that kid day in and day out because of how hard she plays the game."

The stellar week from Hartwell was part of a larger home stand that saw Texas Tech win 8 of 10.

The Red Raiders start an 11 game road trip to California on March 9th after a few off days. The road swing will include UC Riverside, Long Beach State, Oregon State and Purdue. After the trip to California Texas Tech will start Big 12 play against the University of Oklahoma in Norman, Oklahoma.
