Texas Tech Lineman Out for Rest of the Year With Knee Injury
Multiple times throughout the game, there would be a Red Raider down on the field requiring medical attention. This included True Freshman quarterback Alan Bowman, who was taken out of the game and sent to the hospital after possibly re-injuring a previous partially-collapsed lung.
While some other players would only be out for a series or two, others were more serious.
That was the case when senior offensive guard Jacob Hines hit the deck late in the OU game and required a bit of assistance coming off of the field. Not long after getting off the field, Hines was seen by a 1340 The Fan staffer being loaded onto a cart on the sidelines.
The next day, he took to Twitter to announce that his senior season was coming to an end.
Don Williams reported that it was a right knee injury that Hines suffered, and that he will in fact miss the rest of the season.
I know that injuries are part of the game of football, but it flat-out stinks seeing someone's senior year being cut short due to them. On the plus side, the offensive line should still be in capable hands. Madison Akamnonu, who has 25 stars in his career, will most likely replace Hines.
Texas Tech's next game is against the Texas Longhorns on Saturday, November 10th, 2018. It's the Red Raiders' final home game of the season, as well as another chance for the Red Raiders to secure a bowl game.
1340 The Fan is excited to partner with Guns Up Nation this season. Check them out on Facebook here.
