Texas Tech Faculty Were Aboard the Flight That Made Emergency Landing After Engine Explosion
Faculty members of the Texas Tech College of Education were on-board the Southwest Airlines flight that made an emergency landing Tuesday (April 17) morning due to engine failure.
The College of Education said that all faculty members are safe and returning to Lubbock.
KAMC News reports the Boeing 737, which departed from New York's LaGuardia airport on its way to Dallas Love Field, had to make an emergency landing around 11:20 a.m. at Philadelphia International Airport Tuesday morning due to engine failure.
One person was reported dead, and seven other passengers were injured.
Southwest Airlines released the following information about Flight 1380 after the emergency landing:
