The Texas Tech Red Raiders needed one win in the last four games to lock themselves into a tournament bid. They lost to Oklahoma in Oklahoma City. Texas beat them in Lubbock. They went to overtime in Waco against Baylor. Sitting at 9-8 they limped into the final game of the regular season facing their toughest test, the number one team in the nation.

The young Red Raiders couldn't get it done, but they added another quality loss to their tally. Those count, right?

Texas Tech finished 9-9, along with Texas, Oklahoma and West Virginia -- all teams they split with in the regular season.

Against Kansas, Davide Moretti led all scorers with 18, but there wasn't much behind him. TJ Holyfield added 11, and Terrance Shannon added 8 as the Red Raiders shot just 37 percent from the field.

The Big 12 Player of the Year Dok Azubuike finished with 15 and 11. The Jayhawks are undefeated on the season when the big man hits the 15-point marker. The Jayhawks are the overall favorite in not only the Big 12 Tournament, but also to be the number one seed in the NCAA Tournament on Selection Sunday. The Red Raiders on the other hand are on bubble watch.

Texas Tech needs a win against Texas in the Big 12 tourney to get off the bubble before Sunday's selection show.
