Texas Tech Basketball Beats Georgetown by 14 After 2nd Half Struggles
The Texas Tech basketball team was good enough to beat Georgetown, but they didn't inspire a ton of confidence for a team that has struggled against good teams this season.
The Red Raiders were up by more than 20 points during the early stretch of the second half before Georgetown went on an 18-0 run to get the game close again, nearly tying the Red Raiders late in the contest. In the end, Texas Tech would stretch thier home winning streak at the United Supermarkets arena to 25 by closing the game with a 17-4 run of their own.
The final was 79-65.
Jaylon Tyson and De’Vion Harmon scored 18 points each and Daniel Batcho recorded his second career double-double with 15 points and a career-high 13 rebounds. Kevin Obanor had for 11 points and Pop Isaacs added 10, with the most important maybe being the bucket that stopped the run of the Hoyas in the second half.
